Nepra raises power tariff by Rs1.81 per unit
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has increased the price of electricity by Rs1.81 per unit on account of the monthly fuel cost adjustment for June,
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested a Rs1.88 per unit increase in the electricity price. The Nepra held a public hearing on fuel cost adjustment (FCA) on July 26 last.
“The increase will be applicable to the bills of August only,” the Nepra notification said.
Earlier, the power consumers were charged Rs1.90 per unit under May’s fuel cost adjustment.

The increase will not be applicable to Lifeline and K-Electric customers.
Similarly, Nepra also issued a notification to increase the price of electricity by Rs2.31 for K-Electric consumers on account of the monthly fuel cost adjustment for June.
K-Electric had requested an increase of Rs2.34 per unit. The Nepra held a public hearing on FCA on July 26 last.
“This will be applicable to the bills of August only,” the notification said.
The increase will be applicable to all the customers of K-Electric except lifeline consumers and electric vehicle charging stations.
