Names of 10 to 15 members of the caretaker federal cabinet have been finalized, who will take oath at a ceremony to be held at the President House at 5:00 PM today.

President Arif Alvi will administer the oath to the cabinet members.

Anwaarul Haq Kakar, who had been appointed as Pakistan’s caretaker prime minister on August 12, 2023 after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Raja Riaz nominated him for the post, had taken oath of his office three days ago, on August 14, 2023/

Kakar’s nomination came as a surprise for many as his name was not mentioned for the coveted post initially.

Before that, on August 9 the National Assembly was dissolved few days ahead of completion of its five-year term.
