Speaking to the BBC, he said, “We did not have the idea of ​​a building like the Taj Mahal in our mind, but then it became like this.”

He said that at first he had started to build a mosque and a madrassa adjacent to his mother’s tomb, but then architects and friends asked him to make it look like the Taj Mahal and then it became his ‘dream project’ for the architect. went.

He further said that he spent around five crore rupees on it but he still feels that he has not been able to fulfill his mother’s right ‘because after my father passed away in 1989, she gave me and my four children. I brought up my sisters and everyone in my family respected my mother very much.’

His mother’s name was Jilani Bibi and she was a ‘symbol of courage and love’ for her son Dawood. When his father died, his mother was only 30 years old and instead of remarrying, she spent the rest of her life raising her five children.

Amaruddin Sheikh said that after the death of his mother, he could not believe that she was not among them. They felt that they were somewhere around them so they decided to bury them in their native land instead of a cemetery.

Talking to the newspaper ‘DNA’, he said that the construction work started on June 3, 2021. About 200 people worked in it for two years. This building is built on 8000 sq.ft.

He said that ‘As my mother’s heart was transparent, we thought of replacing the Italian marble with white marble from Rajasthan and that’s why it looks white.’
