CTD arrests 13 terrorists, including three key Da'esh commanders

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Punjab has arrested over a dozen terrorists including three key Daesh commanders during raids across Punjab.

Divulging the details of the operations on Saturday, a CTD spokesman said 13 terrorists were arrested from Lahore, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Chiniot, Kasur, Multan and Mandi Bahauddin. These terrorists were planning to carry out subversive activities in the province, the spokesman added.

According to a CTD spokesman, the CTD personnel also seized explosive material, IED bombs, detonators, protective fuses and cash from the possession of the terrorists.

The arrested terrorists were identified as Jalat Khan, Jannat Khan, Kashaf Rasool, Ghulam Rehman, Israr, Nazeer, Abdus Salam, Amir, Asad, Ameer and Anwar.

The CTD officials said cases have been registered against the detained terrorists and further interrogation was under way.

The CTD officials further disclosed that 339 combing operations were carried out during the current week, during which 34 suspects were arrested while 4,113 people were questioned.
